I am a survivor of the opioid crisis. I was put on opiates at 12 years old to treat chronic pain from a physical abnormality in my jaw joints, & have been through hell & back since. although I’m happy to say I’ve been in recovery for the past 2 years, I have track marks on my arms, legs & hands that advertise my previous addiction like a scarlet letter. I’ve searched the Internet to find a way to get rid of them, but was very discouraged by what I found. it seems the ONLY thing posted about track marks on the Internet is how to use them to identify an addict/confirm drug use; NOTHING exists on how to get rid of them once you’ve overcome addiction & are successfully in recovery. Would peel treatment help me? or am I destined to wear this scarlet letter for life & forever be judged by my past as opposed to my accomplishment? by the way, I am now studying for my masters in biotech so I can help discover new treatments for pain. I want to devote the rest of my life to find an effective alternative treatment for pain so that others won’t have to endure what I did & then live with the resulting complete lack of self confidence due to the devastation addiction has inflicted on my once flawless skin.
🙁 This is just terrible! I am so sorry that you were put through that. What I can tell you is that scars can be improved. I would like to share this link with you. It is going to talk about scar treatments using the TCA and also Super Cop 2x.
https://www.platinumskincare.com/scar-treatment/ *You can also use milder topical acids like Serum 30 and Super Cop 2x. It is just the combination of acids breaking down the scar tissue and copper regenerating new tissues that really works.
I have mostly white spots and a few browns spot anytime I expose my skin to the sun. So, I try hard not to “tan” in the sun. Self tanners work for me. I would like to do a peel to help smooth out my skin. I have this issue on my chest, legs, and arms. I have protected my face over the years and have not had the issues I do on my body. Due to the white spots with the peel help me correct the issues?
Hello. The white spots are hypOpigmentation. Meaning that the melanocytes are no longer working. The hypERpigmentation can definitely be treated. We generally suggest Fade Bright daily and a monthly Jessner peel. Another option is Fade Bright and Triple Treat 25% Body Lotion daily (or 3-5x per week) to help turnover the skin. Expect a Life-Long issue to take many months to improve. But take PHOTOS and you will see your progression. Take a photo each month prior to doing your next peel. After a few months you can compare and really see the changes starting.
Do you know how long after a skin tone treatment/scar camouflaging treatment like skin52 is done can we do a TCA peel on the body? And how long after a TCA peel can we do a skin52?
Hello. I have looked this up and this is tattooing in your skin coloring. So – I would be very cautious in the future to try and avoid this area with acids and other harsh treatments. **Generally speaking, tattoos that do not have a black outline, and are only color, will fade and blur very quickly. We do NOT want to Rush that inevitable process more than it will already go. If you want to do body peels … I suggest applying a barrier ointment on your new tattoos to protect them instead. 🙂 Aquaphor or Vaseline will work well for this.
I am 63, and have brown spots all over my legs and arms. The skin on my forearms is very thin, and the skin on my legs is thicker but very dry. What peel/regimen do you recommend?
You should start off with a daily regimen to get the skin even and prepped for a peel. I would suggest Triple Treat 25% body lotion 2-3x per week to help get the dead skin off. This can help with pigmentation as well … but, adding on an actual melanin inhibitor would be prudent. Fade Bright can be used 1-2x per day. So daily with this one .. and then the triple treat as you can.
Moving forward. With your thinner skin … lactic 50 is a safe peel that can be done. Jessners is another option – but, it is quite a bit stronger. You would have to start very gentle with maybe 2 layers.
